I have a difficult time making time to blog, but I got tired of the first post on my page being a negative one, so I thought I would do a quick update on my life since the last post.
I got married to Alex on July 16th. The day went swimmingly, and the best part was the man who stood beside me the whole time. A lot of people really came through for me with helping putting the day together, and I really felt a lot of love coming at me from all directions. Alex and I still talk about how nice everyone was to us on our wedding day. It was great. I loved seeing all the people I loved in one place.
Alex and I spent our honeymoon in Jamaica at the Couples Tower Isle resort, which was just amazing. We ate delicious food, hiked Dunn River Falls, went horseback riding, scuba dived and so much more. I would love to go back some day, it was truly the epitome of a picturesque tropical paradise. There are pictures on facebook, if you care to look. I would highly recommend the location for anyone looking for an amazing get away.
Shortly after we wed, Alex and I bought a house in Cedar City, Utah. It is an adorable little home that we just love. It has two bed rooms and two bath rooms, and a nicely sized yard (which unfortunately is made of rock) and four-yes FOUR- sheds. The house has a few projects that we are working on, like putting tile in a carpeted bathroom, tearing ugly wallpaper out, weeding the yard. I'm working on making it homey and decorating-buying plants and hanging pictures. We're looking forward to the projects that we get to do, and are gradually learning what we need to about owning a house. It's a wonderfully fun process that I'm glad we get to do together.
Alex and I are also going to school at Southern Utah University. Alex has one year of school behind him from BYU, but only a few of his credits transferred, so he is still looking at 3 or 4 more years. He is studying graphic design. He comes home almost every day with some new thing he has drawn to show me. He is very talented and seems to be enjoying his courses at SUU. We are taking one class together this semester, and that has been a lot of fun. I got my associate's in May, and now am working on a composite major in Public Relations and Broadcasting. I am minoring in Management and Theatre. I also have had the opportunity to work in the Service Center on campus as the Communications Manager, and I am learning a lot to do that job well.
The other major thing in our life that has happened recently, is we bought a cat. Her name is Maimou and she is 5 months old. She is so very cute and we love her to death. She's a really good cat.
Life is really good. I'm happy, even with the ups and downs. One thing is for sure, 2011 went by way too quickly!
